- Yes. Aniimo supports multiplayer, and the mobile launch announcement confirms cross-play and cross-progression with PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
- Add your friend by UID or nickname once the Friends feature is available, then use the squad invite to join a world.
- Guest rewards and world progress are separate. A September 23 update shares rare gathered resources in Companion Mode; an older demonstration warns against assuming all quests or collectibles transfer.
Different platforms can play together
Aniimo isn't limited to meeting people on the same console. The official mobile launch announcement confirms cross-play and cross-progression between iOS, Android, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Cross-play lets you play together; cross-progression lets you continue your own journey across supported platforms. Neither promise means that completing a friend's quest will automatically finish it in your world.
Evidence: Aniimo launches on mobile for iOS and Android
The PlayStation listing describes four online players, while the Xbox listing describes online co-op for two to four. Egg Heist is a separate activity with three-player teams, so don't use the general co-op capacity to plan its squad. For a first session together, keep it simple: get into the same region, find one another in Friends and decide whose world you're joining.

Add a friend and join their world
Let the opening tutorial unlock Friends
Continue the early game until the feature is available. The co-op tutorial video doesn't establish an exact unlock quest, so don't assume a fresh character can accept every invitation immediately.
Exchange UIDs or search by nickname
MonkeyKingHero's tutorial uses the UID shown at the bottom-right of the screen. Search for your friend's account in the add-friend interface, then confirm you've found the right player.
Check that you're using the same region
The same video warns that players in different regions can't form the intended session. Check this before blaming cross-play or reinstalling the game.
Send a squad invitation
Find the friend in the squad or friends interface and send the invite. In AlphaGalaxyy's demonstration, the joining player appears beside the host after accepting.
Choose a small shared objective
Try a nearby catch, chest or Alpha encounter first. You'll learn how the session handles rewards before committing to a long story run.

What carries back to your own world?
AlphaGalaxyy's September 17 co-op demonstration distinguishes several kinds of progress rather than saying that everything is shared. Nearby treasure chests show a sharing message for both players, and the creator reports that both players can receive a catch opportunity after an Alpha fight. Each player still needs the relevant catching resources and has their own attempt.

| Activity | Reported behavior | What to check in your current session |
|---|---|---|
| Nearby treasure chest | A shared-chest message appears for both players. | Stay together and check the message before moving on. |
| Alpha encounter | Both players can receive a catching opportunity. | Check your own cost and chance; a friend catching it does not guarantee your catch. |
| Main-story quest | The guest does not gain the host's story progression. | Check your own story tracker after returning home before planning a shared quest run. |
| Lumin Amber | The pickup does not count for the accompanying friend. | Check your own collection tracker after one pickup; later Companion changes may affect shared resources. |
| Teleport point | A guest may see the activation scene without retaining the unlock. | Open your own map after returning home and confirm the point stayed unlocked. |

The September 23 update added rare-resource sharing for players in the Companion state, after that demonstration was recorded. It doesn't name every collectible covered by the change. Try one pickup and check your own tracker, inventory and map before committing to a long farm; don't assume either that all guest progress transfers or that none of it does.

Use Companion Mode to stay together
Companion Mode handles the familiar problem of one player wandering off while the other is trying to lead. In the demonstrated interface, one player chooses the leader option and the other becomes the follower. The linked state is shown with a butterfly effect, and the follower travels with the leader. It's useful when you're following a route or briefly stepping away. The September 23 update also lets you send a Companion invitation without standing face-to-face.

Use the leave prompt shown on your screen when you want control back. The video uses T on PC; follow your own platform's displayed input rather than assuming that key applies to a controller or touch screen. Companion Mode is a travel convenience, not a way to make the guest inherit every quest or collectible the leader completes.

For help beyond your squad, the official launch announcement describes the Horn for calling assistance, the Flute for inviting or finding nearby players, and Come to Me for bringing allies to your location. Those tools serve different purposes, so use a direct friend invite when you're trying to arrange a specific session.
