Quick Guide
  • Creator route guides place Alpha Minespine inside a hidden cave near Beastfang Ridge, with a return point called Forgotten Mine.
  • Several guides report that you must infuse 120 Lumin Amber at the Breezy Plains Branch to reveal the hidden passages.
  • Bring an Aniimo with Tunnel, open the blocked entrance with the nearby explosive barrels, and follow the cave down to the challenge.

Look below Beastfang Ridge, not at ordinary Minespine habitats

Alpha Minespine's reported route leads into a hidden cave near Beastfang Ridge. The creator guides approach from the ridge's fast-travel area, head downhill toward a blocked entrance, open it with explosive barrels and use Tunnel to squeeze through. TheKennyDubz identifies the return point inside as Forgotten Mine, beside the Alpha challenge.

That is a boss route, not a normal species spawn. The official Minespine entry describes a Rock-type BREAK Aniimo associated with crystal minerals, but it doesn't supply this Alpha entrance or its unlock condition. Following a general habitat description alone can leave you searching the right kind of terrain without ever reaching the challenge.

The gate comes before the cave

TheKennyDubz, FIDISTI and i'm the main character all report the same broad prerequisite: collect and infuse 120 Lumin Amber at the Breezy Plains Branch. Their guides connect that milestone to the revelation that exposes previously hidden cave passages. Use the Branch reward description for revealing hidden caves to identify the correct milestone.

Check that you've claimed the Branch milestone before making the trip. Having Amber in your inventory isn't the same as infusing it and receiving the unlock. Breaking the entrance and fitting through the passage are separate steps, so bring a Tunnel-capable Aniimo as well as completing the Branch requirement.

  • An activated branch milestone that reveals hidden caves, reported at 120 infused Lumin Amber.
  • A captured Aniimo with Tunnel; the demonstrations use Budclaw for the narrow passage.
  • Access to the Beastfang Ridge travel area and a team you're comfortable taking into an Alpha encounter.

Follow the hidden-cave route

Travel to the Beastfang Ridge area

From the nearby fast-travel point, look downhill for the small blocked cave entrance. Use the creator route below, starting at 1:36, to match the approach to your map.

Move an explosive barrel to the obstruction

The route demonstrations use barrels beside the entrance. Place one by the blockage, move clear, and ignite it to open the passage.

Twine with your tunneling Aniimo

Use Tunnel to get through the low opening. Repeatedly jumping into it as the Pathfinder won't solve the narrow passage.

Continue down through the cave

Follow the interior passage down toward the lower chamber and the challenge. If the entrance is still concealed, check that you claimed the Branch milestone.

Activate the return point before starting the fight

TheKennyDubz's route ends at Forgotten Mine, next to Alpha Minespine. Activate it so a later visit doesn't require repeating the entrance route.

Creator route reference. The Alpha Minespine section starts at 1:36.

Common route problems
What happensWhat to check
The surface entrance is blockedUse the nearby barrel on the obstruction; the route is not an ordinary open doorway.
You opened the entrance but cannot fit throughTwine with a Tunnel-capable Aniimo and use its movement ability.
The cave route is still concealedCheck the claimed hidden-cave milestone at the Breezy Plains Branch.
You found ordinary Minespine insteadYou are following a species habitat rather than the hidden Alpha route.
You reached the chamber but cannot handle the encounterActivate the return point and come back prepared; access and combat readiness are separate problems.

The route reports agree on the branch gate, explosive entrance and tunneling passage, but they aren't a substitute for checking the current map and reward description. This page covers getting there. It doesn't rank teams, promise an Alpha catch or turn the official species' attributes into the boss's battle stats.
